Private Medical Examinations
Patients can have private medical examinations at the surgery. For example: Taxi & HGV. There is a standard charge for these examinations, payable on the day of the examination. Please ask at reception for the current charges. You will need a 45 minute appointment with the GP, please make the receptionist aware you are requesting a medical examination when you ring to book your appointment.

Smoking Cessation
The Practice Nurse offers advice on the full range of options to help you to stop smoking.

Ante Natal Clinic
Midwives attend the Surgery every other Thursday morning. Once you discover you are pregnant you should book in to see the G.P. who will arrange subsequent antenatal appointments, alternatively you can self refer by completing the online form at http://www.lancsteachinghospitals.nhs.uk/pregnancy-self-referral.

Baby & Child
Child development checks are mostly done by the Health Visitor; you will receive an appointment direct from them. These development checks will not be done at the Surgery. However, 8 week development check-ups and immunisations will still be done at the surgery.

Childhood Immunisations
These are performed by the Practice Nurse here at the surgery. Remember to bring your child health record (Red Book)

Cervical smear tests – between the ages of 25 – 65 years
These are done by the Practice Nurse. Please book your 20 minute appointment at Reception when you receive your invitation letter.

Family Planning
These are done by any GP or practice nurse. We can advise and prescribe all methods including barrier methods, oral contraception and depot injections (long acting injection every 12 weeks). Nexplanon 3 year contraceptive injection.

For sterilisation (vasectomy or laparoscopic sterilisation) patients should first book to see G.P. and a referral will be done for you.

Respiratory Clinic – for those patients with Asthma and COPD
These are done by the Practice Nurse. Please book your 20 minute appointment at Reception when you receive your invitation letter.

Chronic Disease Reviews including CHD, Diabetes and Hypertension
These are done by the Practice Nurse. Please book your 20 minute appointment at Reception when you receive your invitation letter.

M.O.T.
Available for anyone age 40 – 75 who has not had one in the last 5 years. Includes blood test for Cholesterol and Diabetes. Please ask at Reception and we will be happy to make the relevant appointments.

Routine and Holiday Immunisation
These are done by the Practice Nurse. A short questionnaire will need to be completed for EACH family member at least a week before a 20 minute appointment (for EACH family member) is made with the Practice Nurse. Questionnaires are available from Reception.
